Why I'm Serializing My Next Novel Here on Substack
A quick note that’s a little different from my usual content here.
As some of you know, in addition to writing about expertise and authority building, I write fiction: the Ann Kinnear Suspense Novels and the Lizzy Ballard Thrillers. The seventh Ann Kinnear novel is finished in draft, and I’m doing something new with it before it goes through final revisions and out into the world as a published book: I’m serializing it on Substack, one chapter a day for six weeks, starting June 6.
One of the things I’ve genuinely valued about being on Substack with From Expertise to Authority is the quality of the conversations here—the exchange of ideas in the comments, the back-and-forth with readers who are thinking seriously about the same things I am. That experience is a big part of why I chose Substack as the platform for this experiment. I want to gather reader reactions while the book can still benefit from them, and Substack felt like exactly the right place for that kind of conversation.
The first seven chapters are free. From chapter eight onward it’s $10 a month for the duration of the six-week campaign.
